HOW DO I PICK MY TUNES?

Except for the Novice division (first time ever playing in a fiddle contest), all contestants should prepare a breakdown, a waltz, and a tune of choice for each round. Need help figuring out what counts for each? We like this website for help: http://www.fiddlemn.com/popular-contest-tunes.html

HOW DO I GET A GUITAR PLAYER?

Don't worry, if you aren't bringing your own accompanist there are always guitar players available at the contest. Make sure to arrive in time find someone who knows your tunes and run through them at least once!
Thank you for remembering to tip your guitarist, they work hard to make you sound your best.

WHEN IS THE LAST DAY I CAN REGISTER?

We'd love to know in advance how many people to expect, but we're happy to take your registration on the day of the event as well. Make sure to arrive in time to handle these details before your division starts!

WHAT IS THE TIMELINE?

It all depends on how many people show up! We typically start with Novice and Small Fry and then move up in age divisions, finishing the day with the Open Division. If a division only has 2 fiddlers in it, it will last less than 15 minutes! However, if there are 10 musicians competing, it's likely to last an hour or more. Best to show up early to guarantee your spot in your round.
